Summer Clerk Program:
As part of our hiring program, Richards Brandt Miller Nelson recruits second-year law students to work at the firm during the summer. Each clerk works closely with an associate supervisor in obtaining assignments and regulating his or her workload. The associate supervisor is also responsible for ensuring that the clerk receives constructive feedback about their work. Due to the diverse nature of our firm's practice, clerks can expect to receive assignments covering a wide range of legal issues, such as insurance litigation, medical malpractice, acquisitions, estate planning and divorce. The purpose of the program is threefold:
- To give clerks the opportunity to gain practical legal experience working in an office environment.
- To provide our attorneys with needed legal research assistance.
- To give the firm's attorneys an opportunity to become acquainted with law students to help them make informed choices regarding long-term employment. Typically, Richards Brandt Miller Nelson hires new attorneys from our summer clerks.
